I've been using Fresh Patch (size XL with the base) for over a year now, and it’s been a game changer for me and my pup. The base makes the whole process much easier — I just swap out the grass, wash the tray, and pop the new one in. Super simple.
The grass typically lasts about 1-2 weeks depending on the weather. In the summer, I notice it lasts closer to a week and a half due to the heat, but that’s expected. I live in an apartment and keep the patch on my balcony, it’s perfect for rainy days, snowy weather, late-night potty breaks, or anytime I can’t take my dog out right away. I still walk her in the morning and evening, but this has been a lifesaver for in-between times.
It took my dog (a 20 lb Beagle mix) about two days to get used to it at first, but now she uses it with no hesitation. The XL size gives her plenty of space and fits well on my balcony.
A couple of small suggestions:
• I wish the package came with disposable gloves like some competitors do. It would make disposal a bit more hygienic.
• It would also be amazing if they had a distribution center closer to the East Coast - shipping takes about 5 days for me, and occasionally in hot weather the patch arrives with slight browning, though nothing too serious.
Overall, I definitely recommend Fresh Patch, especially for apartment dwellers or anyone needing a convenient indoor/outdoor potty solution for their dog. It’s reliable, easy to use, and worth the investment.

Freshpatch has been a life saver for me and my pup. We set it up on our balcony and it’s just the supplemental “outdoor trip” he needs in addition to his walkies! It’s especially helpful on days where it’s too hot outside for him so he can quickly go out and do his thing. We potty trained him in 2 weeks with the fresh patch too. It always comes super fresh and lasts a long time. You and your pup won’t regret it!

i am normally not a huge review poster but this product has saved my butt so many times. dachshunds are notoriously hard to potty training but my 5 month dachshund mix has one or two accidents a month with the convenience of fresh patch. fresh patch delivers california grown hydroponic grass patches that are always super green and definitely the real deal. i have the standard patch for my 11 pound dog and it is great for two weeks! (my dog is a bit picky but it could last longer). i keep my grass patch on my porch out of the sunlight and don’t really water it. it fits my needs perfectly! it is so convenient and helpful to have easy access to grass on the third floor of an apartment building. the only downside i have is that the cardboard box gets wet and begins to smell, and my dog sometimes will put his paws inside the grass and pee on the corner. not at all due to the product but just how we use it. i really do attribute so much of the success i’ve had potty training to fresh patch, i would recommend to anyone bringing a rescue home!

Fresh Patch had been the best move for living in a city/apartment. We are fortunate to have a good sized patio but with only concrete here wasn’t a good option for having out puppy use the restroom especially in the middle of the night without having to leash up and take him on a walk.
