Best Dog-Friendly Vacation Spots

If you want to vacation with your dog, we're here to help you do just that! There are plenty of vacation spots that are perfect not just for you, but for your dog, too. Here are some places you should visit with your pup this summer.

Mountains

The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch (Avon, Colorado)

If you want a breathtaking getaway in the mountains and have the means to do so, you can't beat this luxurious resort. Your pup will enjoy doggy room-service with yummy (and dog-safe) desserts as well as doggy massages and baths.

Red Mountain Resort (Ivins, Utah)

Here, you'll enjoy the beautiful sights of the Utah mountains as well as luxurious accommodations for you and your pup. Pups receive treats and will enjoy the 55-acre grounds. A "Hike for Hounds" activity is the perfect way to get exercise with your dog on this vacation.

West

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale (Scottsdale, Arizona)

This resort is a true escape, and hilariously doggy-themed. The hotel's 4paws program brings out Uno, the canine ambassador, to show you the grounds. Your dog gets spoiled just as much as you do, with a custom-made bed and a special canine menu.

Huntington Beach, California

Huntington Beach is one of the most dog-friendly cities on the West Coast. You can pamper your pup at the Doggie Spa at Seacliff Village, or head to the Huntington Dog Beach (that's right, a beach just for dogs and their humans!) for a day of fun. There are plenty of dog-friendly rentals and hotels in the area.

East

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

This beach town is the perfect destination for you and your pup. They have a dog-friendly ferry that travels between Delaware and New Jersey and there are tons of dog-friendly hotels and rental near the shore. If you love movies, bring your dog along to the "Cinema by the Surf" events.

Cranwell Resort (Lenox, Massachusetts)

If you're up for a luxurious resort, head to this one in the Berkshires of New England. They're pet-friendly, so you can bring your pup along for the pampering. There are also plenty of nature trails and open spaces at this resort, so it's perfect for your dog.

South

Sanibel Island, Florida

This friendly little island has everything you'd want in a vacation. There's a calming, small-island vibe to Sanibel and plenty of dog-friendly beaches with shallow waters that are perfect for wading. There are also local pet shops you can visit, like Island Paws, for all of your dog-themed souvenirs.

Austin, Texas

Austin is one of the most popular tourist cities in Texas, and for a reason! It's lively, full of music and art, and very dog-friendly. There are dog-friendly beaches as well as a park called Red Bud Isle, that allows for off-leash roaming. There's yummy local bakeries, like the Groovy Dog Bakery, as well as the annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade, held in February.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and hit the road with your pup in tow.
