The Plastic Tray is a great option if you are not going to use the functional cardboard box or wooden sleeve. The tray is designed to accommodate the Fresh Patch Large dog grass pee pad (24" x 24"). The grass is easily removed from the cardboard box and inserted in the plastic tray.
The tray is helpful if:
1. Your dog chews on the cardboard box
2. Your Fresh Patch is being used outdoors in rain or snow
3. Your dog needs a lower profile for entrance into the unit
I have a spot in my backyard for my Havanese puppy to go *****. During our winter season it rains and my puppy does not like his paws wet at all. So after doing some research found "Fresh Patch", and tried it out (setting it up in the garage). My puppy is a happy camper now! Even if it has not rained but outside has morning dew; he will run in the garage to use Fresh Patch. Thank you, I am so happy no accidents in the house!
We ended up just using the box for the patch of large grass we ordered for our hotel stay and the grass absorbed the *** really well. We use the extra large one at home and it works wonders. Have purchased from fresh patch now for years and will continue to.
We brought home our baby girl, Chloe, a 4 month old English Bulldog, last month. We live in a 3 story condo with only a patio (no yard to ourself), and this product has been a lifesaver for those 12 am and 8 am trips to let her go ***, saving us from putting her leash on and bringing her downstairs. Another great use, she just got spayed yesterday (and is doing great!) so she has to take it easy the next week or so. We just pick up the fresh patch and set it in her pen for her to do her business, then put it back outside. We got the large size, which is perfect for her, she’s about 30 pounds. Every 3 weeks is pretty much the sweet spot for us, it starts to die at 2 and is pretty much donezo at 3. We live in dry, hot Phoenix (it’s been in the 80s even in Nov/Dec) so I imagine if you had a cooler climate it could last longer for you. YMMV. It is a solid yes from us! If you’re thinking about it, give it a try! (Don’t have any photos of her with the fresh patch, but she’s too cute not to post!)
